    has USC at #8, IIRC....

    Higher than ND, Oregon, UDub....

They have USC listed with 8 returning each on Offense and Defense...

What are they seeing that most here are not seeing? I mean lots of us here thinks were at most a 7-8 win team...

Its just to get people talking/debating. USC has as much of a chance to finish in the top 8 next season as Oregon St, UCLA or Washington St. In other words......NO CHANCE!

Appears confidence in Helton is high by those in the know. Dry your tears haters.

The rankings are based upon projected returning starters and incoming recruits. That creates certain expectations. With the Covid shortened season and key kids sitting out, we were eventually projected to win out the PAC12 conference. Larry Scott even went so far as to pitch our 5-0 record to the CFP committee for consideration even if the majority of those victories were teams that had losing records.
Well we all know how the season ended. Helton’s program has serious flaws like an unbalanced offense, highly penalized undisciplined team, and poor game management, ...., and until those get fixed, depth and national rankings pertaining to class recruits will only continue to setup high expectations/projections that will struggle to be met!
    Fight On!

What a genius. Most HC's have a 3-5 year plan and get fired in 4. Guess if yours is a 20 year plan, you get more time.

Excluding this year as it was not a complete year with multiple game cancellations, we have been trending down on wins YoY since Helton has taken the helm. The slope is negative, and I believe the R^2 is significant.

The bowl record is abysmal (1-3), and outside of, I believe two (I may be wrong) recruiting classes, they are terrible. This is a typical bad stock to buy. The stock looks attractive, but the underlying fundamentals are negative.
