I think that description can be used to describe just about every media/news organization and 99% of politicians.

Crunched some numbers last night for shits-n-giggles. Comparing current death rate to average case rate from two weeks ago, it appears COVID-19 mortality rate is down to .5% -- less than a third of what it was last spring. And of course it's far lower for younger, healthier people. So why are we still freaking out about this crap?

In the meantime, hospitals in LA are rationing care and not admitting patients deemed to be at low risk of survival, so death rates will jump for other causes. Nice work, "experts".

The upside is I needed to go to the Dr. and got in 1 day later and then I needed to get some imaging done and called on a Thur and got in on Friday.
In the "old days" it would take 2 weeks or more to get into the imaging center. While I was there, you could see the staff had a lot of free times on their hands.

When did the FB board become the Off Topic board?

Mortality rates? Is that really what we're down to? The resources it takes to keep these patients alive means hospitals are pulling from the ortho/surgery wards to assist the ER/ICU. It's taking throngs of 5-8 staff to treat individual patients...and we're down to quibbling about mortality rates?

Not to mention for you fiscal conservatives...who is going to pick up the tab for all this medical care when it's all said and done...even if the patient survives?

If I'm being honest, Alabama is going to do what Alabama does...and I can't be too sympathetic to ignorant people that want to continue doing ignorant things...but for the innocent collateral damage, my heart goes out.

Maybe you should come to Florida where it takes 6-10 weeks to get an appt with any Doctor.

Maybe when the likes of ESPN decided it's their place to wade into politics and societal topics and moralize at us. If you can find a clean line between football/sports and politics/society/culture, I'd be more than happy to go back to that world -- I liked it a lot better than what we have now, that's for sure!

So you're good w/ new OP's regarding Belicheck turning down the phony Medal of Freedom, the Lakers arranging to visit the WH as soon as new admin arrives, Saban taking a stance on mask-wearing, PGA withdrawing their Bedminster event, etc.?

If so, we can do this. The FB/Off Topic board can work both ways. I'd prefer not.

Is my stalker back? I'm guessing your replying to that. For some reason he is obsessed with my opinions.

I had no idea there was a Covid19 Championship* last night. Shows I much I care about this exhibition season.

I do give the SEC credit for going against the shut it all down narrative. They had a relatively successful season, with little safety impact. The cowardly and politically motivated PAC 12 is still pissed they were forced to play a season once the Big10 succumbed to logic, liberty and science.

You mean the SEC that awarded the Player of the Week to Sarah Fuller (female kicker from Vandy), or the Saban team that was outspoken for social justice? Or the Saban that was outspoken in support of mask-wearing and social distancing? That SEC?

Yeah, give the SEC credit also for their wokeness.
