Elon Musk says Tesla HQ 'will move to Texas or Nevada immediately' and plans lawsuit after California county health official says factory CAN'T reopen, days after Gov Gavin Newsom gave green light

Elon Musk has announced that he plans to move the Tesla HQ to Texas and Nevada 'immediately' after a California county health official said that the plant could not reopen.

The disgruntled CEO took to a comment thread on Twitter to share that he was also planning to file a lawsuit against Alameda County.

'Frankly, this is the final straw. Tesla will now move its HQ and future programs to Texas/Nevada immediately,' he said in the Saturday tweet. 'If we even retain Fremont manufacturing activity at all, it will be dependent on how Tesla is treated in the future. Tesla is the last carmaker left in CA.'

Musk is a nut job, and probably a crook but California has completely lost its bearings. We are living in insane times.

No wonder. I would do the same .
Newscum will now have to figure out what to do with another empty factory.
Maybe he can convert it into a home for the " homeless" .

Mitsubishi is also moving its HQ.
If Tesla moves, Honda, Kia and Hyundai will be the last remaining auto HQ in California that I am aware of.

I think that has hurt USC football. Generally but not always, blue collar kids play football.

I think more kids of blue collar parents. particularly manufacturing union parents, play football. South Carolina has a lot of auto plants. The South in general has more manufacturing.

Agree that Musk is on the loony side - but I'm glad to hear smart folks starting to rail against Newsom and the ridiculous political agenda here in CA. Also starting to hear about labor/constitutional rights lawyers picking up the fight against these unconstitutional orders in CA. Newsom is sure to be knee deep in lawsuits - so expect some significant tax hikes when all the dust settles. The mass exodus of folks leaving CA could be enormous.

A few years ago, didn’t 144000 families pay most of California’s taxes? That isn’t a broad tax base.

CA used to produce a lot of warbirds in Santa Monica, El Segundo and Long Beach too if I am not mistaken.

I will wager Newsom will win in a landslide if he runs again. The guy is quick on his political feet, and always seems a step ahead. I can see where driving a arrogant billionaire out of California will play very well with his base.

The people who really run Sacramento are the public sector unionists. They get paid no
matter what. “ Soak the Rich,” they yell as their mantra, but very softly they whisper “and anyone else.” They just want to get paid.
