What a stellar debut for Elijah Weaver.

But more importantly this dual point guard lineup is what SC sorely needs. Even if its Stetson, Weaver looked good on defense and passing.

All 3 freshmen looked pretty good. Weaver is pretty smooth out there.

I do hope we try to push the ball hard this year, we have the depth to play a fast paced game. Heck, if we’re gonna lose a game I’d rather it be 98-94 rather than 56-52! Remember those terrible games in the low 50’s with Kevin O'Neil's teams? (Games we mostly lost)

Those O'Neil teams couldn't shoot even if kids lives depended on it but man did they have one heck of a defense. I think for a couple of weeks they were in the top 5 for scoring defense.

They weren't exactly hidden gems. Enfield and his staff got on them early, which was huge. But they were always Top 100 recruits in the Class of 2018.

    Yep.

In addition, Porter was the Washington state player of the year.

You have to like having players who can create off the dribble for others (like Weaver), and for themselves (like Porter).

Porter has the look of being the top freshman player at SC in a long time. At the level he’s playing at, he is off to the NBA after this year.

Porter has shown plenty in limited minutes and shots. He definitely seems like the ball should be in his hands at the end of the half or game. Put Bennie in one corner, Shaqquan in the other and Matthews on the wing, SC will either get Porter going to the hoop or a step back shot or pass to one of those other options for an open 3.

I try to get a look at all PAC-12 programs, but USC is at the top of my list of PAC programs I want to see.
Glad your freshmen are stepping up and looking good.
I’ll be rooting for y’all except for two games this season.

Certainly some matchup nightmares for opposing coaches.
