Why does he always get targeted in the most critical situations? Is he some sort of secret weapon?

Regardless nothing good ever happens when he is thrown the ball. Not sure why we keep trying. Coaching maybe?

Clay Helton logic: because he had a whopping 3 catches coming in that's why. He's a proven target.

Pittman was wide open on the interception. And I'd bet on Pittman's chances on a jump ball on that 4th down play.

Maybe the worst 4th and goal play call ever.

You don't use your best player as a decoy, you throw him the damn ball!

You take a timeout on a critical 4th-n-goal....essentially to call your best goal line play.

And they throw a fade. A 50:50 ball. WTF?

    No well-rehearsed, semi-surprising, hard -to-defend play. Just a fade.

As far as London, he’s a 6’4” basketball stud who has won dunk contests....that’s why he gets a target. But it was a weak call at that juncture.

Why isn’t Velus Jones getting any reps other than kick off?

That fade throw to London was a horribly placed ball that had no chance of being caught. He had plenty of space towards the back of the end zone and Fink weenie armed it too much towards the front pylon of the goal line. That's why UW's DB played it perfectly and also got away with a PI, IMO.

Still a crappy play call. Fink isn't accurate - and that's a fairly difficult throw. The entire D was keying on Stepp on 2nd and 3rd down - perfect opportunity to simply run the zone read with Fink keeping it again. Fink just not good enough to lead this offense - especially on the road against any decent team. It's why I think this team has a hard time winning any road games this year - and that should seal Helton's fate.

4 QB run or pass option plays would of worked down there.

Yeah. At this rate he will be back in transfer portal by the end of season. Someone with his speed should be great in Air Raid.

I think Drake London will be great eventually but right now he is not getting open. Give Velus and JJ3 a chance!!!

Set Drake up with an alley-oop up high, real high, and he can go up and get it but those Fink throws were the equivalent of a bounce pass to David Thompson waiting with both hands above the rim but the ball going under his feet.

I don’t believe Stepp was in the game at all on that final series, was he?

The London play was supposed to take advantage of a height mismatch differential. That is his strength, but it was poor ball placement. Maybe JT makes that throw work, but you always take advantage of one on one height mismatches.
