I agree with poster who noted a replacement is in place if Helton is jettisoned mid season ..I am not familiar with Williams’s entire resume but being a great recruiter and motivated to win and win big is a good start
Does Bohn redo the offensive staff after the 1st
Hard to believe Dolt and Caruso the Crook are that stupid as noted by Troy70

With those other dudes that are coordinators, isn’t this a slap in the face.....

Can the team have 4 associate head coaches? Asking for some friends.

I believe the play is to “promote” Clay to “associate” AD and then we get back to Trojan football

That is the old school approach if you cannot fire them, you move them to another department where he can do the least amount of damage! I know he is a great cheerleader and damm can he ring that victory bell!

That's great, but how does this help our offense?

I thought Williams looked different from that picture being used.

Read his bio on SC website. Didnt know Kris Richard was his cousin. If no Urban (seems more and more a pipe dream), I would take Richard and Donte to run the program.

Like the move, especially if he’s the head coach in waiting. Of course I don’t know what they’re waiting on?
Iirc Pete Carroll was a db coach who turned out okay as a head coach

    Happy NEW Year!

I’m not sure I UNDERSTAND why this is such a “tough” one to understand. In the current football COACHING profession, coaches receive/EARN titles primarily because they are desirable WITHIN the profession. The title is either meant to KEEP (by the current staff) or ENTICE (by new staff)...the new title ALWAYS comes cash...

I’m fairly CONFIDENT AHC-DW would not have accepted the advancement/title if he didn’t WANT to remain on the staff he’s on, even considering the current HC. The fact that the current HC is so widely disliked and DISPARAGED by fans (and, yes, I’m in the “can we at LEAST have a real run game with some play-action and screens” camp) cannot be cause for the wild speculation AHC-DW must also be, either privately or by promise, EITHER the “Head Coach In-waiting” or somehow be “in on some insider knowledge the HC is a ‘lame duck’” (insert “lame” jokes here...).

In this current football coaching professional CLIMATE, from HS to the NCAA to the NFL, there is almost no LOYALTY...the days of a McKay’s staff staying intact for 10+ years are long gone...at the HS level, too many Principals/APs/ADs think they’re Power 5 ADs or NFL GMs and changes happen constantly without compensation commensurate with the application of the process (the Trinity league notwithstanding).

At the NCAA and NFL levels, CASH has almost completely replaced any form of Loyalty.

Because of these elemental CHANGES, I’m just going to enjoy having AHC-DW wearing cardinal and gold for as long as its loyalty value matches its cash VALUE.

    Again, Happy New Year!

    Fight On, FOREVER, Fight On!

This must mean Foreman signed and he was his recruiter.

I like your posts, but I’ve always wanted to know why you capitalize every 8th or 10th word.

Not me. They can't take another flier on a coach with no head coaching experience.

I disagree with the notion that USC does nit recruit itself.
Let’s follow your own logic. You claim Helton is horrible ( no argument here )
But with the exception of last year, top talent keeps coming in.

That indicates players come here because of the three letters. USC.
They obviously don’t care Helton is in charge. So why do they come here ?

    The answer is obvious.

    Fight On

Lets hope he handles the time outs, extra points and field goals
Georgia coach just showed why you have to sometimes take a field goal or just kick the extra point.
Anything can happen at the end of game
JT Daniels just won the Peach Bowl
