This whole sign stealing business should be a nothing burger IMO. Pretty easy for catchers to have a series of signs to prevent any camera or base runner from tipping off a batter. They do this with runners on base. Why not just do it all of the time?
Or, as someone else said, give the pitchers and catchers ear pieces and let a bench coach call the pitch.

Not enough time for the positioning of players defensively relative to the type of pitch to be thrown if you limit signals to the battery at the last second.

They probably lack standing...and can't prove any damages. About as silly as anything else the OP posts.

Can you explain? After seeing the catcher's sequence and seeing what pitch that equates to, then seeing another sequence and seeing what pitch that equates to, how does that not provide everything needed for stealing signs?

    Have you played baseball before?

LOL at thinking MLB teams like the Dodgers and Yankees weren't aware of this and tried to do everything they could to prevent it - look at what Aaron Boone texted Buck Showalter, they were all over Houston stealing signs. Unfortunately, the LAD and NYY just didn't know that Houston was using the live replay feed TV in their clubhouse.

Will this change the way the catchers and pitchers communicate on pitch call moving forward, of course. But you make it seem like this was easy to avoid so the teams that were cheated out of a possible WS title should just pound sand. WRONG.

I was being polite. You post an asinine article about some butt-hurt fans pretending they have any financial loss in the Astros cheating--because they don't have real lives outside the Dodgers, I guess--the sort of lawsuit we seem to see anytime a home town team loses.

But sure--double down on explaining why it's some fan's problem that the Dodgers were cheated...and how they are so sure the Dodgers would have won.

...this!!!..also...Dodger hitting was el crapo in both of those series...can't see how their offense was so lame vs BRS or HA pitching that overcomes any allegation of their defensive efforts...

You sound salty. I still contend the Dodgers are the most roided up team in baseball.

I'm an Angels fan so not sure how I'm salty. I am glad to see the Astros, Dodgers and Yankees suffering.

I don't just dismiss the cheating by assuming that the other teams are taking PED's.

And imo stealing signs using technology is 1000 times worse than PED's.

If they were steeling signs in the Houston series, then yes, it could have definitely made the difference in a series that went 7 games and had some really close games where 1 hit here or there made the different.
    Game 2 specifically.

Yes: steeling the signs could easily have changed that series

No: the suit has no merit and will be tossed

Yes probably true right now, but at least when the Giants make the World Series they know how to finish. As far as the suit is concerned -- frivolous BS. A case only the "presidential" (according to CNN) Michael Avenatti would take.
