Lol!!! That guy and his texas size grin chaps my ass. He's right up there with Nicholas Cage and that guy from the Mummy movies as for his acting. Only way he wins an Oscar is to become anorexic. Give me $5 million dollars and I'll stop eating too.

Every time I see him it makes me think of that interview I saw where he played up this whole "good ol' Texas boy" thing while trying to pretend to be "above" the LA scene.

Shortly after trying to come off as so unaffected though, talking about living in a place where people talk about where they went to school, what they have, and other more superficial things that Hollywood stands for, he went on and on about how he went to the University of Texas to their cinema school, etc. Then you get pics of him off the coast of Malibu on a surfboard. And now someone here comments on a fake tan (that doesn't surprise me if it's true).

All these things (fake tans, being photogged at Malibu, telling everyone where you went to school, and showing up on college football sidelines) are all just fine if that's what you're into. But don't diss other people for doing those things when you do exactly the same thing.

He just comes off as a little contrived to me. And I don't think he is as "above it all" as he wants people to think he is.

 

He lives a quiet, simple life back in Texas (his house shown below)

 

It doesnt help him wearing that stupid burnt orange members only jacket. Makes him look orangier...if thats a word(i kno its not)

Anyone remember the pre-game piece before the 2006 Rose Bowl? McConaughey was extolling the virtues of the Texas football team to Will Ferrell. When he was done, Will said "Sorry, I can't hear you, I have a Heisman Trophy (Leinart's) stuck in my ear". So Matthew started again in a louder voice to explain how wonderful Texas was. After he was done, Will replied. "Sorry, I still can't hear you, now I have 2 Heisman Trophies (Leinart and Bush) stuck in my ears!"
