I believe that there is definitely a concerted effort to keep SC from bringing in Meyers. Probably from within the PAC 12

thanks Bruce... I hope as a former player you can send new AD Bohn a nice recommendation letter for Urban.
Keep up the well reasoned columns, we all appreciate them.

I believe ITS has been playing sick and/or hurt. But he’s been really bad for the last few games.

OG seems to play out of control imho. Steele has been good for a true freshman. But the guy I’ve really liked since he got some good run vs Arizona is Hewitt.

I’m with you KB, he’s sound and just seems to be in the right places. Size seems to be his only weakness now, but I like his future.

I feel like there is some talent in this secondary, just needs to be coached up better.

    I want Coach Meyer!!!

But I’d love to see Helton shit can Baxter and Pendergast and see what defense can do with new blood.

I also thought it was unprofessional for Gilmore and the other two announcers to be so negative about the possibility of Meyer and our coaching situation. Gilmore has never been a fan of the Trojans and we always have to tolerate his negative and biased comments. ABC should reprimand them or at least bring it to their attention.

"A Note: I was genuinely surprised by the on-air trash talking regarding Urban Meyer as a coach and leader. I suspect there is some Pac-12 death wish going on when it comes to USC football. Well, screw the Pac-12 and hire the one guy that can turn this program around. We are floundering charitably put which is bad for us, the conference and the student/athletes. I for one would be ecstatic if we could bring on Coach Meyer. We passed on one elite coach already (Orgeron), so why pass on a second one? "

    Great take.

    This is so true.

They aren't going to like us no matter what we do.

If we do hire Meyer, they hate us.

If we cave to public opinion and do not hire Meyer, they laugh at us and then hate us.

    So hire him already!

    ^^^ this is the truth^^^

The sooner we move on from HCCH the sooner we can start focusing on finding the long-term answer. By every measurable point (ticket sales, merchandise sales, revenue for the athletic department, training for our athletes, donations, etc.) hiring Urban Meyer would be a benefit to our school and athletes.

    Fight On!

Perhaps Clancy is simply unwilling to leave the CBs out there by themselves in man-to-man coverage given their apparent weaknesses.

Is the poor coverage by the CBs a product of their youth, their abilities or a lack of good coaching?

Even prior to the game saving Rector move, was the perfect pass to ASU wide open tight end on SC 20 with a clear path to the end zone that would have sealed ASU win ...those 2 plays were the deciding factors...NICE article...thanks.

It's a no brainer to us but I get the shivers thinking about decision making within academia. The calculus is so different than what we need right now. With Jack Yary decommitting as an example, the message is loud and clear. Get our act together now.

SC: Agreed, what I do worry about is USC making another Orgeron-like decision.

Yup, we were screwed and got fortunate. Lucky is not a strategy but we sure need some. Pac-12 has our offense figured out and without running back depth and power, we are very one dimensional on offense. Defense is just a choppy, banged up crew out there. ASU exposed both Griffin and IST as assignment liabilities.

Go: I think it is very evident and frankly it is well pass time to get a head coach on board that knows what it is like and what it takes to win championships. The rest of these folks point of views I could care less about. They don't love USC and USC football...we do.
