This is going to be an interesting thing to watch this fall, as it certainly appears that we're on our way to a reduction in seating capacity this fall, if there are fans at all.

Ohio State reporter Dan Hope had this note today about the Buckeyes: "Gene Smith said Ohio State has looked at social distancing concepts that would allow Ohio Stadium to have some fans this season, but those concepts would likely reduce capacity to 20,000-22,000 fans."

Capacity for Ohio Stadium is 104,944. Just based on those numbers, USC could be looking at around 15,500 fans per game.

Would be better than nothing I guess. Playing “at home” with no crowd would sure suck.

Just let the students in. I really see no path to full attendance by fall. It is no fans or no play. A lot of sporting events have no fans, It would not kill the TV audience. Ratings would soar

The one thing I've noticed with the Korean baseball and other proposals is they do not have group or even couples seating. If you have a family or couple you could easily add capacity while keeping to social distancing working. I guess policing the groups would be impossible, however they could at least add couples seating (assuming you want to sit next to your significant other).

If you had a choice between letting in 15,000 fans with the lowest priced tickets and letting in 15,000 fans with the highest priced tickets...

I'm guessing that if they allow limited fan access it won't be students only. Maybe start with the high end boosters or maybe do a mix, but I doubt it would be 15,000 students.

You need to consider the age, People under 25 are not going to die, the numbers are extreme in their favor.

Would SC risk the older high end boosters, Pat’s Tower ? Scholarship club, Committee boosters? Hey, let Folt & BOT get CV. Safe play is students spread out over Coli.

I like the idea of attendance being driven down even further based on the lack of couples who could agree on this decision.

Like I said before, early on they should only let Season Ticket Holders/ Donors, Students/Faculty; and friends/family of the players and coaches go to the games. No student section, and space everyone out for social distancing!

I think it will be by natural selection. Lots of the bigger donors are in the 65-80 range and they may say thanks but no thanks. And others will disqualify themselves simply because they won't want to play by any rules the school imposes. I think finding the worthy 15,000 will be the least of anyone's problems.

Well, he's of the "age" if someone wants to lock him in a nursing home for a few hours.

a)People under 25 are not going to die - this an absolute
    b) the numbers are extreme in their favor - this is a probability

Do you post often in the off topic forum?

Clay Helton still being the coach caused me not to renew my season tickets or go to another game until he is gone so my family is 4 less people SC has to worry about in that attendance count. Easy for me to social distance at SC games with that guy still as the HC. Not that SC cares about non booster fans like me anyways.

I guess the Bruins and Chargers games will look pretty much the same as last year. They were already social distancing.
