If they're going all in on the Air Raid, it's really the best (and only) hire they could have made other than prying Bill Bedenbaugh away from Oklahoma.

After reading his bio, it makes you really wonder about this hire. If the guy was so impressive you would wonder why he is not on either Leach’s staff at Mississippi State or on Kingsbury’s staff with the Arizona Cardinals. Looking at his past track record at Texas State, Texas Tech, and Washington state, they all had losing or above .500 winning records, mainly at WSU when he was with Leach.
Ok Harrell got his guy, but Drevno got let go because he could not recruit, is Clay 2 going to be able to do better? One has to wonder!

What we really need is a guy who could come in and immediately recruit the best west coast prospects. Not another bumpkin from Texas.

I'm not aware that Drevno was let go because of recruiting. I do know he was not the right fit for the type of offense that Harrell wanted to run so Clay 2 can't do any worse.

Drevno is no Bill Callahan, but if I could just choose one, I would have rather they replace Harrell than Drevno.

Ok fair enough, although never said, but it was one of his failures as an Oline coach. He could not even keep the the local talent in state. They all headed to Oregon. But back to topic, you are correct nothing was said about recruiting, but more thank you for your past services and don’t let the door hit you on your behind on the way out!

Hopefully Harrell is making a good choice as this is obviously his man.
But Harrell has got to keep learning to balance the offense.
His air raid passing can be first class as we have seen Last year.
    But not this year.
The other teams Have learned to adjust to his air raid.
But if Harrell can learn to put in running plays and More misdirection plays it will come back
Harrell is a one trick pony now.
But he can adjust if he wasn’t stubborn

Best hire considering what Harrell is trying to do with the offense. Another website podcast reported that a current USC player said it was like they were running "two" different offenses at the same time - Harrell's and Drevno's... now there's no excuse for everyone not being on the same page.

Big Boys often have to be imported West, be it from the Islands or the South. You boys in the west watch your plate portions too much.
What he could do for me immediately is secure Simmons and Uke's signature.
That would really be impressive !

I definitely get what you're saying. It would sure be nice to cherry-pick some of the top guys in the South. First though, it might be a good idea to find a coach who can help us land the best linemen in our own footprint. Worrying about the South while recruits like Sataoa Laumea, Wyatt Davis, Jonah Tauanu'u, Sean Rhyan, Penei Sewell, Enokk, Fautanu, Angilau, Patterson, Baker, Rosengarten, Brown, Murray, etc, etc, etc, etc...are choosing other schools seems foolish.

    Erik wrote 13 paragraphs.
The sole reason there was an opening for the job (run game) did not appear until paragraphs 8.
Erik, the elephant in the room is the lack of a run game. How did you let Helton get you so off focus?
If the new guy answers to Graham there will be no run game.

We will know if anything has changed within the first couple of games. Conditioning start on Tuesday, McGuires first time meeting the boys. I wanna see some actual run pro sets, not pass pro 100% of the time. Get the T’s and TE’s into three point stances to seal the edges, I wanna see big runs up the middle occasionally....

Lots worthy of discussion here but criticizing him for his first name?

    That's way beyond silly.
