I know he's committed, but I often wonder if it will stick. I say that because he seems to have a LOT of love for Florida and the questions constantly surrounding USC. What do you guys think?

Any chance he will play safety at the next level? We lost 3 safety and we don’t have any recruits committed. Wonder how many safeties have we offered.

    He'll end up a Trojan.

I do think there is a very good chance he ends up at safety.

More than likely he will play Safety at USC. He has the size at 6'2'' 185 lbs. He will certainly need to bulk up in order to become the enforcer on the back end of the defense. Who does USC have to step into that FS spot when Tell leaves? Pollard or Pola-Mao will have to move over from their SS positions next year in order to provide experience until Chris Steele can learn the position. Hufanga will probably start next year at SS with Pollard, Pola-Mao, and Chase Williams providing depth in the rotation. Helton and Clancy will definitely need to bring in at least 1-2 more Safety recruits in order to help out the Secondary.

I thought all the safeties can play either spot? I thought I remembered hearing CP saying they switch spots throughout the game.

I'm sure they do in practice, but in the games this season we've only seen Pollard, Pola-Mao, and Hufanga play SS. Now that the defense is only down to 4 players on scholarship at the two Safety positions (Tell, Pollard, Hufanga, Williams) the rotation has gotten tighter in terms of not switching players from SS to FS and vice versa. From what I've heard and seen is that Marvell never comes off of the field on defense. God forbid if something were to happen to him on any given play.

Every year we face some tall wr’s, probably a good idea to leave him at corner

Until that letter of intent is signed & faxed it's always a possibility a kid can end up elsewhere.

Steele could definitely play Safety if that's where the team needed him.

He's a very physical player who has excellent spatial awareness.

But he's an elite CB too . . . think a physical player like Biggie Marshall . . . but with a little better feet and technique.

SC has offered other potential Safety recruits like Noa Pola Gates (Arizona) and Jordan Patterson (Westlake HS).

AND . . . by the time December rolls around, any lack of numbers at Safety will also be an attractive factor for certain recruits in the form of . . . Playing Time.

Helix what's your take on Chris Adimora? I see he's a UT commit now but he's from CA. Do you think he's someone SC would be interested in flipping by signing day?

Adimora is a good athlete, with good size.

You have to like his all around athleticism as a basketball and track athlete too.

You always keep track of guys like Adimora and Cameron Williams (verballed to Washington) . . . especially if they don't sign during the Early Signing Period in December . . . that will mean they may be open to other schools.

20 more lbs of muscle needed. That’ll take Sc conditioning coach 4 years

See Mauga, Echols, Juliano Falaniko, Talanoa Hufanga, do I need to go on? This idea that players don’t physically improve is ridiculous.

That seems to be the case only on the o-line.

Prospects like Steele are going to be key to our defense continuing to be special and hopefully our strength going forward.
I am glad he is coming to USC though because we need DB help going forward.
