Erik-how will their duties differ as opposed to being official coaches?

According to Erik, they were hired before the rona. Which created a hiring freeze. Plus didn't Claiborne just get his degree. So wouldn't that cause a delay as well?

Remarkable changes to the coaching and supporting staff since season end. I have to attribute that to Bohn because Helton has suffered the one insufferable personality trait that will end any coach's career, and that is being loyal beyond reason, to the point of loyalty over success. To highlight this point, there was a great point made on a recent TV sports talkshow that was questioning Michael Jordan's 'win at all cost' approach with teammates and opponents. Matt Barnes (former NBA guard) made the point: you don't go into the NBA to make friends. You go in to win a championship and to make money. This does not mean you won't make friends (as well as enemy's, see Isaiah Thomas - Jordan), but that is a side story. Back to Helton, he needed someone to to explain this to him.

Your question came before I posted our story, but I included this information in there now.

The biggest difference is that the quality control coaches coach the coaches, rather than coach the players. So Claiborne and Pullard can be on the practice field and on the sideline during games, but they can't offer any instruction to the players. They also can be present in meetings (if assistant coaches are also present) but they can't provide any coaching during those either. Instead, Claiborne and Pullard will be able to break down film and provide assistance to Todd Orlando (or other coaches) in formulating a game plan.

Now, is there a way to crack down on Claiborne telling Orlando something to tell Jordan Iosefa? I doubt it. But Claiborne definitely won't be able to get up on the board and conduct a meeting or anything like that.

They also can't take a central role in recruiting prospects--they can't find prospects to recruit or contact them. But they can send recruiting material and be present at anything that happens on campus.

In the story. They were hired before the hiring freeze, but agreed to delay their start date until June 1.

Damn you Bohner! You've been a train wreck and haven't moved the needle on improving the program. It's been the same ole same ole w/ you unwilling to pay $ to get the better coaches and allowing Helton to continue hiring his lackey buddies. I have not noticed a single positive change with the team.

Bohn and Folt are in on a conspiracy to sabotage SC. F them both, our program has no hope.

This was two great hires. Their worth is above the levels they were hired at.
Maybe Helton has finally stopped hiring his buddies and relatives.

Surprised that Chris is on offensive side but I guess the defensive job opening was taken by Hayes.

Agree - can't be anything but good to get two great Trojans back into the ranks. I would expect there are a lot of things these two can show to current LBs about angles of pursuit, keys and down/distance tendencies that will help them become better position players for DC Orlando.
