What's wrong with Illinois? All we read about are shootings, corruption, debt, etc.

Maybe I should ask, what's right with Illinois?

    ++++++++

Homicides and shootings have surged in Chicago during the first seven months of the year.

From Jan. 1 through the end of July, there were 440 homicides in Chicago and 2,240 people shot, including many of those who were killed, according to statistics released Saturday by the police department.

There were 290 homicides and 1,480 shootings, including people who were killed, in the first seven months of last year.

July was especially violent, as the city recorded 105 homicides and 584 shootings. Among them was a 9-year-old boy who was killed Friday w.....

It’s nice to see a Democrat run city where adding more gun control laws actually work!

More proof that guns don’t kill people....Democrats Kill People!

Place is/has been corrupt as hell for many decades. Nothing will change unless you removed the entire government, police department, etc.

We have posters here who figuratively love bathing in the blood of murdered children and won’t see the horror of dead children, but kiss the feet of BLM.

    Bathe away, defenders of death!

The defenders of death pointed out in fly's post are going to soon meet those they have been complicit in killing. But only for a second or two, as they are doomed to fall into the deepest, most hellish, dungeon of Gods wrath.

Good point: deaths have risen steadily under a Repub Administration and Congress who are clearly out of touch and clueless as to how to deal with these challenges. thanks for posting!

The entire country is controlled by a Repub Senate, a neoliberal House, and a far right president. The state of IL and the city of Chicago are controlled by neoliberal shills. Do you know anything about neoliberalism? I bet you think you do, but really don’t.

I’ll give you a clue, it’s more conservative than liberal and feigns liberalism while always acting in the interest of conservative market/financial interests.

These liberals have been reduced to such lunacy now they're just doing anything they can to shift blame. Now they're using the word "neoliberalism" to try and veil their atrocious policies.

Nice way to deflect. And nice attempt at pulling some cherry-picked pieces from the "definition" of "neoliberalism" to try to make these liberals truly seem like conservative, but in some faux liberal wolves clothing.

We know that limousine liberals have been around for a very long time. They've looked to conservative policy to make their own money, while pushing social policies that keep others down. I have two acquaintances in Pasadena who live in a big house near the arroyo who are as liberal as it gets. Didn't stop them from getting their money through conservative policies. They vote Democrat though because of their white guilt. Unfortunately, that vote hurts others more than they want to believe.

Would these libs, for once, just take responsibility for themselves. Theirs is the party that enables and entitles black citizens in order to keep their vote and hence keep them down. Theirs is the party that's perfectly fine with shredding human fetuses.

Got to hand it to them though. They know they've painted themselves into a corner and have NO defense for their policies, nor will they ever take responsibility for those policies, so they're always tweaking to find some lame way out of it. Well there is a lot of ignorance in their voting population, so we can see why they do it. The bamboozling continues.

The problem lies within the people who run Chicago. This thing is duplicated cities country wide run by liberals. Congress and Trump bicker because they are on opposite sides. Not relevant. The key are the local leaders. If you look at John Lewis whose district was and about Atlanta, he was all party but never did anything to improve his community. He was a pioneer in the civil rights movement. He was venerated for it. Once he got in Congress he became wealthy but did nothing for his constituents. I see these politicians repeating this all over the country. Business as usual....people hurting.

Another fool that doesn’t understand what neoliberalism Truly is or what it means.
    https://www.investopedia.com/terms/n/neoliberalism.asp

Clinton was the first “Democrat” Party president who fully embraced neoliberalism and privatization. He was a POS.

Obama was another neoliberal tool (and still, as much as he was not great, 1000 X better as President than chump).

many of you conservatives on heat have been duly lied to and brainwashed. I should charge you for unveiling the cloak that covers your eyes so deftly.

The problem is systemic and, thus, iterated again and again across red and blue cities all over the USA. If we don’t overhaul the system, the violence will never end.

    STFU, troll boy.

Regurgitating talking points shows how ignorant you really are. This is a leftist policy issue and you would know that if you didn’t have your head so far up your ass.

Republicans have ZERO control or even influence on what goes on in Chicago or any other major U.S. city. If you think Republicans have any hand in crafting policies in Leftist city councils, you have your head further up your ass than previously suspected...

Conqueer- this may be a new low for you, and that is saying a lot. Blaming Chicago's problems on the GOP is laughable, and pretty pathetic. But then again, " truth telling is not a left wing value"

Man, some of you are dense. I’m not blaming it on Republicans as much as I’m blaming it on a system that’s rotten to the core, and that’s the same system that Republicans currently control and have the most power in, yet they do nothing to change it (further proving that this admin IS the problem/swamp itself).

In Chicago? You're mistaken. That, or you're having difficulty finding the subject.

Can you name this so-called system and the precise causes and effects? You've hinted about about some vague indefinite systemic problem, yet you fail to give any concrete evidence, but you got feelings...

Deep down you probably know that the systemic cause is the federal government going to way back when lawmakers tried to replace the traditional family unit with government housing, food stamps and a bigger check for popping out more kids without a father in the home.

The government has destroyed the traditional family by incentivizing irresponsible behavior and the problem has been compounded by generations of urban culture believing that's acceptable and in many cases that that's all there is to life.

But you and your leftist ilk would never acknowledge this failure for fear of having been wrong and shouldering any responsibility for the slow disintegration of the traditional family unit and the stability it once brought to our country.
