getting a DC offer from Oregon or Washington? We all know he can recruit but Is he good enough of a coach for a DC job?

Exactly! If you surround DW with great coordinators I’m confident he can do a better job compared to Helton as a HC

Is it better to be an Associate Head Coach/CB Coach/Defensive Pass Game Coordinator or a Defensive Coordinator? Hm...

Supposedly, we doubled his salary from Oregon ($450K to $900K) and gave him a 3-year contract simply to coach the DBs. I'm sure his promotion to Associate HC came with even more money. That right there puts somewhat of a poison pill into his contract.

I think Tosh Lupoi will be the DC at Oregon. Just got let go with the Atlanta Falcons. Worked for Mario before and he was a stud recruiter!
    Fight On!

Damn good chance. I think Tosh is a really good fit for them. His name has to be near the top of any list Cristobal puts together. They do have two really strong internal candidates though in Heyward and Joe Salavea'a. They're also two of the best recruiters in the country. It is going to be a really tough decision for Cristobal.

Say what you want about Tosh, but the thought of him with Heyward and Joe Salavea'a on the recruiting trail is pretty scary. That would be a scary trio to compete with in the living room. Really though, I just don't see how they can pass up on both Heyward and Salavea'a.

I always thought the best scenario for us would be if Oregon went outside the program for the hire. Maybe it would piss at least one of the internal guys off enough to jump ship. I'd gladly take Heyward back in a trade for Naivar. Heck, while we're at it, I wouldn't mind adding Salavea'a as well! We need a couple more monsters on the trail. DW can't do it all alone.

Kenny Forman was never leaving California. People are giving Williams too much credit for this.

Most of the SEC teams he had on his list stopped talking about him several months before his signing. They knew it too and did not waste their resources.

That would be a disaster for USC. If Tosh Lupoi ends up at Oregon with the recruiting staff they they have now.

That would be like Babe Ruth joining Don Drysdale and Sandy Koufax.

Good. The Ducks will have infractions within 2-3 years. Tosh is just a bag man and was already busted once with the Huskies. His actual coaching is questionable at best.

USC should reward great recruiters like they do top assistants.
Donte is not ready for a DC job.
But he is close to being a head recruiter.
Give a job to the person who can do that thing the best.
Remember Tee Martin a great recruiter and position coach.
But not ready to be OC.
Helton was not ready to be a HC.
But he was a great used car salesman.

Donte had some sort of family issue which pushed him toward LA. Doubt he goes anywhere for a while.

He landed Kayvon and Flowe up in Oregon now Korey and Domani? I think he has a lot to do with all of their commitments and deserves credit for landing them.

USC has jusy 1 recruiter in the Top 10. Oregon has 4 they do it differently they have 5 or 6 guys assigned to a few guys. That's how you get this.
