watching the Giants game and it’s truly sad watching Chad Wheeler. I saw him get push and thrown down to the ground on his back 3 times in the 2nd alone. And I thought our OL was bad.

Just tuned in and they said he had the most starts on the oline. Then he proceeded to get pancaked 2 plays in a row... Glad to see our oline development showing out in the nfl lol

Maybe the Giants practice in pads and shorts.

Wheeler was a 3-star kid who was not really expected to be a star. He started at left tackle as a RS-freshman. He is living out a dream in the NFL and overcame some serious mental health issues to get there. Let's remember that instead of bashing a Trojan alum.

It’s because the Giants cut mega flop Erick Flowers. Jerry Reese may have been one of the worst GMs of all time.

I watched him on about 12 plays...trust me, he was not the problem on that Oline. Yeah he got pushed back on that one play you mention and tripped over another player, but the pocket had already collapsed on the left side and Eli got sacked by that guy.

I look at it this way...just like me in my career, he's far exceeded what anyone expected him to accomplish. He's playing on house money. I applaud Chad for his effort and that he's a starting Offensive Lineman in the NFL...what tens of thousands of others aspire to do for a living.

USC football and USC fandom is in a sad state when supposed fans have nothing better to do than find every imaginable angle to shit on Alums/players.

Players like Wheeler did more for USC on or off the field than 99.9% of you could ever dream of. This thread is weak AF.

I too watched Wheeler last night. It looked like he was being beat on bull rushed, however he did a decent job on outside rushes. I think he needs to have some guidance on his technique more than anything. He seems to bury his head into the rusher and gets locked in and pushed back. I'm not up on line play, however it wasn't working.

Wheeler overachieved at USC. I think he was a 3 star guy. He was a smaller guy coming in and switched position. I dont have anything negative to say about a guy who did more than expected.

Didn't he come in as a 245 pound tackle?...far exceeded expectations in my opinion

I watched him too and he did good. Manning was under duress most of the night but it was the Giant guards who were getting beat. Wheeler looked as good as Solder.

Anybody that can stay on an NFL roster let alone start is a pretty big accomplishment. I am lifelong Giants fan and the franchise is digging out of the deep abyss created by Reese. Wheeler replaced Uber bust Erick Flowers and has been serviceable. He should be getting no flack whatsoever.

I think Wheeler and Zack Banner had some of the lowest OL rep totals at the NFL combine... like 12 to 13 reps at 225 lbs (whereas Porter Gustin pumps 35 reps AFTER he does his regular weight workout). It's no wonder he gets overwhelmed physically in the NFL. The S&C program needs to get better results, especially for linemen.
