Sounds like a reasonable list. The fact that Mark Jackson is the only name I’ve ever heard of on that list makes me think it’s a good list.

    C. David Baker.

Doubt he'd come and at 66, he's getting older - but the 10 years he could give would be a BOSS ten years.

Jon Wilner dropping some dimes here, especially Iowa St.’s AD. Iowa St football and basketball have been impressive in recent years despite barely having any 4/5 stars

Yes. I love him but I'd not want him for the job.

I'm willing to throw my hat into the ring.

I have 4 years HS football experience under my belt and would have fired Helton after last year. So I got that going for me.

Phillips would definitely be on my short list. I like Castiglione as well.

Here is a tweet from Yahoo's Pete Thamel with some names: "Names USC will be/has been interested in: Baylor’s Mack Rhoades, Jenn Cohen, Rob Mullens, Nova’s Mark Jackson, Whit Babcock and BC’s Martin Jarmond. G5: Temple’s Pat Kraft, UNLV’s Desiree Reed-Francois and Nevada’s Doug Knuth. If UNC’s Bubba Cunningham wanted it, he’d have got."

Wilner is wearing a ucly colored shirt in his profile pick.....therefore, I would ignore any advice he has for USC...

Somebody gave me a ucly colored cashmere sweater once, like the one Larry Smith showed up in at a bad press conference. I gave it away.

I would hope that they would hire a person who would approach this from the business side, rather than a former athlete. I personally don't want a lot of SC ties. It is time for some new blood.

Jarmond has only been an AD for two years. He has no track record of hiring a head coach in FB, BB Baseball or other sports yet.

Amazes me that you guys know who the ADs are and some of their histories??!!

I couldn’t name one AD of any school...well, Gene Smith of Ohio St., but only cuz of the Urban Meyer issue....Barry Alvarez of Wisconsin....Guerrero at Fucla. That’s it, couldn’t tell you if they are any good, though.
