Ditto. Will never forget that play. Hope we’ll see some imaginative playcalling this year.

I remember that play distinctly. It was later put on the cover of SI.

Williams barely took a step before throwing and still hit ML in stride. Not bad.

This game could have been so much closer. USC dominated but Michigan didn't catch any breaks.

I watch the DVD yearly and there were a couple of plays that, if reviewed, would have helped out Michigan tremendously. I can't remember if it was this game or TX where both coaches agreed to no replay. I think it was the MICH RB where Pete said no replay and it helped USC big time.

The other freak play was the interception by Lofa Tatupu off of the foot of a MICH receiver (maybe Braylon Edwards?)

If you watch this game today, we played outstanding, but the Football Gods were with us that day.

    Go to the 2:35 mark...

Speaking of Lofa...I still have a sore spot in my heart when I think about what could have been.

Quick summary of his 2 seasons at USC:

Tatupu started 25 games during his two years for the Trojans. He finished his USC career with 202 tackles, nine sacks, seven interceptions, three fumble recoveries, three forced fumbles, 18 pass deflections, and one touchdown. He received first-team All-American honors from Sports Illustrated following the 2004 season.

If he stayed for his Senior season, there is no doubt in my mind, he would have stopped Vince Young from a 200 yard rushing day...and USC would have won easily.

I put a lot of blame on him for some reason...I'm still not over that loss. I don't think I ever will.

Had a great time at that game. Recall a fan holding $1000 in hand asking for a ticket. Pete made SC the hottest ticket in town, those were the days.

That was a great day--I too was at the corner where the pass was made. I have a story about that game for the ages, but its definitely a 3 beer conversation.

    Great memories from this game:
    BMW TD pass
    great TD catches by Keary
Our freshmen RBs Reggie and Lendale looking great
Timely blitzes called by PC to make life miserable for Michigan QB. He was sacked repeatedly
Our first NC in 25 years !!! how long the wait is going to be now?
