This comes from TOS, that Aranda was offered the DC spot at USC before he took the Baylor job. I take it with a grain of salt. But if we could have kept GH and signed DA I'd at least feel a little better about the season.

Either one could have potentially replaced CH. Pipe dream, I know.

As what, DC? Head Coach? He just accepted HC gig at Baylor so he wouldn’t pick up the phone if what TOS is saying is accurate.

Makes me glad I don’t visit TOS. What about Belichick, did they offer him too?

Bill Belichick has been let go by the Browns. Word is that the Jets may be interested but we could at least try.

    Oops. That was 1999 calling.

Maybe the DC job search is similar to our recruiting. Offer everyone and cross your fingers!!

USC offered Aranda, Saban, Venables, Arnett, Long, and Carroll. Clay is just putting the final touches on an outstanding job search!!

TOS ran by SS? If so, don’t believe anything that guy “reports”

My friend at USC said this is what the higher ups at HH are telling people right now... kind of pathetic. Everyone can tell it's BS that we would ever get Aranda. They are telling people they did not offer anyone the job yet other than Aranda

My mistake. TOS reported the offer was made to Aranda BEFORE he took the Baylor job. I will correct it in my OP now.

With GH possibly leaving. Would that make it possible to offer Aranda the HC spot? nahh that would make too much sense.

Sounds like a “Hey we tried to get him” knowing full well he would turn USC down.

USC will then make another truly uninspiring hire, sign them to a ridiculously lucrative and lengthy contract and we will continue to throw wood on the fire that is USC Football.

Just like USC to be offering Aranda a DC spot while he's in negotiations for Bayor's HC spot. Clueless once again.

Are we offering Belichick? Maybe HH can say they went after Bill too.

If true, that would back up Bohn's statement about giving Clay the resources he needs. Aranda went to high school and college in So Cal. Plus he would have had the opportunity take over for Clay at some point. The eventual hire will say a lot about the credibility of this story.

I heard USC also offered Saban, Woody Hayes, and Urban the DC position.

Clay's pitch: "you will get paid half of what you did at Louisiana, but the cost of living in LA is more than double that of Baton Rouge. It all evens out in the end. Kind of neat"
