Agree that ASU defensive schemes were very good - took a great game by Slovis to eek out the win - ASU defense will present a lot of problems for other teams in Pac-12 South

I'll play (sun) devil's advocate. I'm willing to bet we'll see other coaches make adjustments and figure out how to score with ease against ASU. Why? Because we've seen this before. Our coaching staff making another team look like world-beaters because we don't know how to adjust. The announcers were repeatedly saying throw to the seams, stop running into the middle on 4th and short, etc. But not our coaching staff, nope.

I wouldn't say they were lights out. They did give up 556 yards and 28 points. Plus we had two turnovers two in the red zone ( one on the 6 inch line). Should have put up 38 -42 points. That's not lights out.

Totally agree, plus we gave up on the run game too soon. With proper use of tempo, I thought there were plays to be made, but I have these same feelings often with Air Raid. Our play calling made ASU look better defensively than they are, imo.

A lot easier to defend when there’s no threat of a run game.

Tempo was frequently a problem with all the ASU players going down on every other play when temp was called.

Exactly if there was not two tos from the players, and they converted the game should have been a blow out.

So i wasn't going crazy, glad someone else spotted it.

That was their first game in a new defense. Incredible. It took a lucky bounce and lucky botch on the onside kick for USC to even have a shot.

If ASU had a WR that could catch it would've been a blow out loss. Looks like Darby is it.
