Had not been there in many years. but I used to like it. The owner also had Woody's Smorgasburger...one near USC and one in El Segundo. I frequented both, way back when cheap restaurants was a must.

Yes it is, and in less than a month. I found out about 2 months ago from a friend who lives in PV. Was planning a trip up for a last meal but they only do dinner service during the week which won't work for me and a Sunday brunch which I also can't do.

In high school, it was THE spot for pre-prom dinners and SO many kids I knew worked in the kitchen or bused tables. They have the best handmade crutons on the table. Flank steak is beyond great.

Counselor, so sad to hear this but not unexpected by the locals. That corner lot has undergone a lot of development over the last 10 years. Golden Lotus restaurant was replaced with a Trader Joe's; a bistro and Subway was added...etc. Plus a montesorri school was established there. Incidentally, the open-air patio overlooking the Pacific is not too shabby for a casual lunch outside with friends. You can watch the California grey whales migrating from there or just go across the street to the Point Vicente Interpretive Center, which is one of the most beautiful parks anywhere. The lighthouse next door has free tours as well. Then you can burn off the extra calories with a brisk stroll on the flat walking trails through the native plants habitat overlooking the cliffs that are part of PV's terraced topography.

Those types of booth waitress restaurants get no business anymore. Really need a good central bar with TVs and cater to singles to have a chance. OMG PV has to be the most boring place on earth to live. I will say sunday brunch at the Trump National is pretty good.

That restaurant had solid business for 50 years. At some point, even the non-booth eateries struggle because rent is jacked so high and commercial landlords are assholes. The Risty had live music and catered quite well to the local community. Speaking of booth restaurants in PV, the Red Onion which has been around for more than 50 years is also still doing quite well. They have a bar which folks don't sit in all that often and they don't cater to singles.

Most boring place on Earth? That's my hometown, so fuck you. It's hardly boring. You clearly have never spent much time there or exploring if that is your take. No, the most boring place on Earth exists between your ears.

Many times? Bullshit. Many of my high school classmates still live in the area, dine there, and like me, they are nowhere close to a walker.

How anyone can call pristine views, tide pools, world-class golf courses, huge parks, world-class resort, breath-taking historic chapel, cliff-walking, whale watching, cycling, botanic garden, lighthouse, to mention a few, boring, is a demonstration of their ignorance. Compared to all the fun and interesting things available to me as a kid, my children have a boring existence unless they leave the city where they live. The Hill is self-sustaining.

Goats, horse, chickens.....yes, outdoor, nature, rely on yourself stuff. One of the stronger 4H clubs in Southern California. I guess learning animal husbandry and agriculture is a bad thing. Got it. It's greatness exceeds anything you'll ever do or imagine.

First off I never said PV was a bad place to raise a family, I said it was boring. And yes we had goats and chickens. And the minute I got a paying job I was gone. Vball still has friends living at home, I am not surprised

Coming from the word genius with the main response being I am drunk. At least some posters can argue a point. Maybe I am wrong, they did have a 31 flavors. I am just saying it is a pretty big area with affluent residence, amazing with the lack of commerce. Would a sports bar really kill the area, not like I was asking for nude table dances.

It wasn't and isn't boring. You however, are a boring person. I didn't say I had friends still living at home, you moron. I said they live in the area. One of them has been selling real estate there for over 20 years. Another owns their own construction and commercial development firm. Another is a former Olympic athlete. Another owns 2 wineries. Another owns over a dozen fast food franchises. I could go on but I have no friends who still live at home.

You are likely one of the least capable posters in terms of forming a cogent argument. Simpleton comes to mind.
