Agreed. As I said, the point of your post is spot on.

Zito, Baylor is a great school and considered a Christian one at that, but like so many others traded their integrity for football glory.

Compare the percentage of International students at SC vs. Baylor. Football is no longer a priority for many students, faculty and staff.

    24.9% vs. 4.2%

University of Southern California reports having a total of 11,392 international students on campus, 2,674 of whom are undergraduates. This is out of a total of 45,687 students, 19,170 of whom are undergraduates. USC suggests that international students make up about 24.9% of the student body.

Baylor University reports having a total of 725 international students on campus, 484 of whom are undergraduates. This is out of a total of 17,059 students, 14,316 of whom are undergraduates. Baylor suggests that international students make up about 4.2% of the student body.

Baylor also had a scandal in mens basketball where one of their players killed another one. I think that happened in the early 2000s.

We should have stayed the "Methodists." Maybe we would get to have our academics AND top notch sports programs.

University of Texas has more to explain regarding Baylor than we.

We have tons of problems, most self-inflicted. But we're a regional school that has a regional culture. We have to answer to the Oregon problem, and why they continue to eat our lunch in FB, Basketball, women's sports, etc.

Baylor is for UT to solve. There are some lessons for us as well, but I think more relevant to why Texas can't get out of the shitter.

Just as why Miami has such a tough time, but smaller schools like South Florida/Central FL/FL Atlantic do better than Miami in FB.

This wasn’t an issue when Carroll (a real coach) was here even with a large international rep back then. Not excusing taking internationals over domestic students but USC has historically had a large international representation program. It goes back as far as 1930s when SC has 800 international students.

1930: With more than 700 foreign students (10 percent of the student body), USC ranks third in the United States in international enrollment.

the admin could care less about the athletics program regardless if it had 1,000 Chinese folks or 1,000 Americans.

President & BOT are white club so don’t blame Chinese & Indian Viterbi students why SC doesn’t care about football, lol.

Bingo. Baylor had one bad scandal and fixed it. USC will be dealing with these scandals for the next five years.

Fyi, you may want to Google the BOT, they are all not "white" as you claim clown.

White club? Racist much? I am sure many of those international students are from Europe or Australia, etc or maybe even South Africa where football is not a popular sport.

I have friends at Baylor College of Medicine, so I know how strong a health system it is, but the health system is in Houston, not Waco. Administratively separate from Waco from what I understand from friends there. I am also not disparaging the quality of the academics either; great school and obviously doing a nice job with their leadership in the athletics department. SC has a more direct involvement in running its health system, so it is much more of a front and center concern for Dr. Folt and her administration than it is for the administration in Waco.
