    100 years ago today, dozens if not hundreds of Americans died during the Tulsa massacre.

    And god bless Viola Fletcher, now 107, a survivor of this abomination.

    158 years ago, during the month of May, the following action occurred in the War Between the States (The Civil War). The Civil War was fought in order to preserve the Union and abolish the institution of slavery;

    “The Battle of Chancellorsville took place in Virginia from May 1–4, 1863. It resulted in 24,000 casualties of which 14,000 were Union soldiers. The Confederates won the battle.

    157 years ago, this month (May);

    The Battle of the Wilderness took place in Virginia between May 5–7, 1864. The Confederacy won this battle, and Union losses in the battle were reported as around 17,666, while the Confederates were approximately 11,000.

    Occurring between May 8–21, 1864, the Battle of Spotsylvania Court House took place in Virginia. There were 30,000 casualties reported of which 18,000 were Union soldiers. The battle is considered to have ended in a stalemate.”

    49,666 mostly white Union soldiers lost their lives trying to abolish slavery during the month of May in 1863 and 1864….that is truly an “abomination!

    Yet another atrocity in what was, at the time, a Dem state, carried by Wilson in the 1916 election. Thanks to the OP for reminding us of what the Dem party has done to blacks.

    Democrats, Republicans, Democratic-Republicans, Federalists, Whigs. You name it, they have all committed atrocities against blacks.

    Blacks aren’t alone and neither is America.

    The ethnic cleansing of Ireland that resulted from the brutally oppressive conditions of British occupation and extraction is known as An Gorta Mór — the Irish Famine.

    The height of this atrocity in 1847. Spanning 1845 to 1851, British imperialist policies and practices caused the death of 1 million Irish and the emigration of another 1.5 million to North America and Britain.

    Where are my reparations?

    Nope. Atrocities against blacks is a Dem thing: slavery, Tulsa massacre, KKK, the recent police shootings that have you so worked (all in Dem cities)...Dems haven't been this mad since Republicans took their slaves away.

    Even the defunding-the-police thing. How many blacks have been murdered since that stuff started?

    Or big cities with Dem school boards keeping blacks uneducated. Dems are the worst thing that ever happened to blacks.

    No argument here... and I didn't want to make this about race. I was just making conversation on the anniversary of a very tragic day in American history. As I said in my original post, many Americans died that day, both black and white.

    It was denali that bulled into the thread with his political hogwash.

    Have any blacks ever been the perpetrators of atrocities?

    Only the ones who have sold other blacks into slavery or have engaged in slavery themselves.

    It comforting that your post wasn't about race. It seemed otherwise. My add was to observe the "root causes," which lefties are supposedly obsessed with. If you want to root out systemic racism, you have to vote for Republicans.

    It might be interesting to wonder why there hasn't been another Black Wall Street in the 100 years since then.

    Every day, from our discussion of black gun crimes.

    Look at Chicago, Miami, ... the news.

    Every murder is an atrocity
