100% Hail Marys from here on out. Tee will be so happy, that's his dream scheme.

Watch Helton say after Monday's practice that they're gonna open up the run game to help out Sears. I'm sure that impressive 2.1 yard average is gonna keep ASU defense on it's heels .

Sears didn't come to USC to be used as an excuse, but that's exactly how Helton plans to use him...sad.

Jack outplayed Matt in Spring. Nice long ball so Tee will dial up throw it up & pray Pittman makes a play.

Does this mean that we'll dispense with pass routes and hand offs altogether? Maybe just snap the ball to Sears (or snap it somewhere in his general direction) and allow the entire front 7 to smash him?

I like it. I was beginning to think that the old offense was far too sophisticated and elaborate.

Maybe we see something like a Paul Crewe (RIP, Burt) type of approach where Jack just throws to the corrupt ref's nutsack. Not very productive long-term but would sure be a hell of a lot more entertaining than what we've been seeing. And the Pac-12 refs do suck.

Well, punting is winning. I heard someone say that somewhere.

So does this mean we can only run it up the middle to the left side

So that means he is going to scale it back from 2 plays to one play?

Hey man, your giving away Tee's strategic offensive gameplan.

Now that I think about it, that could be a good thing.

Maybe they’ll throw more quick outs like they should have been all along. Maybe they’ll actually have the QB keep the ball and run on an RPO. Maybe they’ll limit heaving the ball downfield on low percentage passes to the occasional attempt just to keep the defense guessing.

Maybe they need a bit more simplicity combined with a focus on fundamentals regardless of who the QB is.

I'm sure Clay meant something like you're suggesting, it's just that on the heels of one of the all-time worst offensive performances it came out sounding like an SNL skit. Scaled back? A comedy writer couldn't have done better. When it rains, it pours...

I have written prior that as much as I've defended, supported, and tried to find where Clay is going with his program, the futility has crossed the Rubicon with fans. He's lost the trust of his support base despite what happens going forward. Sometimes change--wholesale variety--is the only solution. I'm afraid we're there.

If that happens USC may have another lawsuit on it's hands.

Child endangerment. I think J.T. Daniels will do good things while at USC, but he's taken a lot of punishment, probably needs some recovery time.

Nothing changed on Clay's end. Some saw it for what it was...others, well they defended, supported, and worked to find what meager crumbs of positive coaching they could find...even if they made it up. Good to see you came around.
