#1 EA... He just runs around. On run plays, it APPEARS his eyes are completely in the backfield the entire play. When he SHOULD be reading the initial Zone Step of his OL key, then running down hill to the ball carrier. INSTEAD his eyes are confusing him and he’s ALLOWING blockers to climb to him instead of beating them to the spot. I’ve coached players EXACTLY like EA...great during prep week, then EVERYTHING prepared goes OUT the window on game day. Sometimes coaches go too long before giving the NEXT guy a chance...sometimes the first guy playing POORLY is better than the next guy...unfortunately. On pass plays, he appears to be green lighted to RUSH the passer once he SEES the play...then he just runs right into the blockers ALLOWING the QB to step up and run by him if he pulls the ball down. DISAPPOINTING to watch... #99 is ANOTHER issue...”Mr. Irrelevant” currently...just doesn’t SEEM to understand the position...almost ALWAYS choosing the inside move and giving up the EDGE...uhggg... Hoping for an IMPROVED and meaningful second half. Fight On, FOREVER, Fight On! RB4SC rhinochaser, Troy70 and Rodgarnay51 like this.

The guy spends all off-season sculpturing his body and techniques to play the safety position. Now, after being forced to, they move him back to LBer.

The move to secondary was obviously a mistake, he looks like a LB. they should keep him there and play him more. EA got hurt in the first half when his helmet came off but came back. But I think he missed the end of ghe game with another injury. I don’t get the negative talk about my man DrakeJ. He had a good game.

On several occasions he “dropped into coverage” about 3 yards off the LOS and was WORTHLESS because his eyes were on the QB instead of looking for the receiver in his zone while checking QB and getting depth. The 2nd half they allowed him to ATTACK the ball, and he showed his VALUE...numerous great plays REQUIRING constant attention by the QB. I believe he CAN become great at this new position, he just NEEDS time and game-reps. Fight On, FOREVER, Fight On! RB4SC Cyrus likes this.

And EA has a million bucks worth of potential but isn't worth two cents on delivery. Todd Orlando needs to step up HIS game. The D is a mess. tommytrojan1122 likes this.

Goforth seems to be settling in, and with Scott could become a decent duo...they seem smaller, but faster.....

If that’s the prototype we’re going for, then they should make Scott and Goforth sit and watch hours of his tape. Because after all, he was one of the best High School players in So Cal history. But there is plenty they could learn from him.

IE constantly attacked the outside leaving the middle wide open. Do we have defensive coaches? Why couldn't they just tell him to spy the QB. This has been a constant problem the last few years. Also, go to a 4-3 set and let Drake Jackson rush the passer. Marlon T. is the best guy on defense. PERIOD. Where is Pili??
