I am in Nashville helping one of my
kids and we ordered “ Burnt ends” from a place called “ Meat Sweats.”

Damn, talk about tasty! I am sure you can find it elsewhere but holy moley is it good. Pork belly seared to crispy in BBQ sauce.

Also finally had some Nashville hot chicken, that’s good too.

Not a bad idea. Eat my way across America at posters favorite spots!

Another good eat: Peel and Eat shrimp in the South. I ordered that once in Flagler Beach FL, and they brought me a MOUNTAIN of huge grilled shrimp for $10.

Burnt ends are usually from the ends of brisket not pork. I have never had it with pulled pork ends but it sounds good.

I may have that wrong, but I thought they said pork. But I also ordered brisket and that was great too.

If one wants to try burnt ends in L.A., I suggest

    Spring Street Smokehouse

640 N Spring St, Los Angeles, CA 90012-2835

Also, tri tip is a California thing, it’s a certain cut of sirloin, I was told it sells in California for a lot higher price, so it gets sent there.
You can get it here from a butcher if you’re smoking your own.

I’m not a fan of Famous Dave’s BBQ but their burnt ends are pretty good.

My favorite barbecue joint in LA, Mom's Barbecue at 1050 W. Imperial Highway, just west of Vermont, has what they call small ends, which are probably similar.

I will give more detail later, but Hard 8 and the Steakhouse was HHH? at the stockyards. I am on the road so hard to into details, but I am a tough critic. My specialties are pulled pork, ribs and tri-tip . I will never order Tri-tip at a restaurant because mine is perfect.

    HHH is a chain, meh.
    Hard 8 is fair.

    not the best choices, brother.

Sorry you got gyped. If you ever get back here, let me know, Ill steer(pun intended) you to the good stuff.
We did a lot of tri tip in California, it’s an underrated cut. Gaining popularity a little.
Ribeye and filets are the main choices.

Yeah, it was a group thing. For me I would look for the small place that does it right.
