Darnold shines at Pro Day
All eyes were on USC quarterback Sam Darnold at USC Pro Day on Wednesday as the USC quarterback went through a workout that included around 60 throws in the rain in front of representatives from all 32 NFL teams.
Sam was given the opportunity to move his throwing session to avoid the rain but he elected to throw at his scheduled time in order to show the teams that the adversity of throwing in the rain was not a big deal. His receivers included Steven Mitchell, Ronald Jones and James Toland but Deontay Burnett did not take part due to a lingering hamstring issue.
Hue Jackson, the head coach from Cleveland, was in attendance (as was the owner Jimmy Haslam) and the Browns also have a QB coach in Ken Zampese who was the coach with the Bengals who gave Jordan Palmer his first shot in the NFL. Palmer is the private QB coach that Sam has been working with and that relationship could be important come draft day.
