Colorado is averaging 424.8 total yards and 27.9 points, but allowing slightly more (428.2, 28.3). Versatile junior QB Sefo Liufau (208-of-337, 61.7%, 2,324 yds, 9 TD, 6 int in 2015, plus 105 tcb, 262 yds, 2.5 avg, 5 TD) directs CU’s offense. On the school’s career lists, he is first in completions (682), second in TD passes (49) and total offense (7,744) and third in passing yards (7,303). His main passing targets are senior WR Nelson Spruce (67 rec, 728 yds, 10.9 avg, 2 TD in 2015, plus 7 PR, 12 yds, 1.7 avg), CU’s career leader in receptions (a Pac-12 record 272) and receiving yards (3,022) and second in career TD catches (21) who currently is 17th nationally in receptions (6.7, second in Pac-12), and sophomore WR Shay Fields (36 rec, 543 yds, 15.1 avg, 4 TD in 2015). When Liufau isn’t running the ball, the Buff ground game features soph TB Phillip Lindsay (107 tcb, 503 yds, 4.7 avg, 5 TD in 2015, plus 16 rec, 148 yds, 9.2 avg and 5 KOR, 120 yds, 24.0 avg) and senior TB Christian Powell (65 tcb, 326 yds, 5.0 avg, 4 TD in 2015, plus 6 rec, 64 yds, 10.7 avg), 2 of the 5 Buffaloes who have run for 100 yards in a game this season. Colorado defensive leaders include junior CB Chidobe Awuzie (61 tac, 9 for loss, 4 sack, 2 int, 6 dfl, 1 FF in 2015), redshirt freshman LB Rick Gamboa (54 tac, 1 for loss, 2 dfl in 2015) and junior S Tedric Thompson (52 tac, 3 for loss, 1 int, 4 dfl, 1 BLK in 2015).
