USC recruiting news and notes — May 15

The past week or so has been a busy one for USC recruiting, as the spring evaluation period is in full swing. The Trojans picked up multiple verbal commitments and continue to extend offers to prospects in the 2019 class.

Who leads the way with skill in Trinity League?

Trinity League teams have won the last two Open Division State Championships, as St. John Bosco and Mater Dei scored 56 and 52 points respectively in beating De La Salle. The offensive firepower in the league shows no signs of slowing down, as both the Braves and Monarchs are loaded with skill position players. But they should be joined by Orange Lutheran, which has assembled a stellar cast of offensive skill.

USC OL Recruiting Update

Sunday evening’s pledge from offensive tackle Jason Rodriguez should once again show USC fans that there is very little to worry about with head coach Clay Helton and his staff on the recruiting trail.

Navigating Spring Official Visits

Beginning April 1, high school juniors—the 2019 recruiting class—are able to take official visits. Previously, official visits were permissible beginning Sept. 1 of a prospect’s senior season. The visit window runs through June 24 this year—the Sunday before the last Wednesday in June
