2014 Season Review: Defense

In its first year under the direction of Justin Wilcox, the USC defense had a season marked by highs and lows. Led by standout performers like Leonard Williams and Su’a Cravens, the Trojans were at times a fast and opportunistic bunch, finishing No. 26 in the FBS against the run and No. 13 in red zone defense. But this was also an inconsistent group that had their struggles against some of the more formidable offenses that they faced, and their tendency to falter down the stretch was well chronicled.
